Services for Seniors
Thanks to generous funding, in 2022 CFA has kicked off the Senior Owner Program specifically to help low-income seniors secure veterinary care for their pets. This program covers cats, dogs, and non-exotic small mammals, reptiles, and birds. Vouchers can cover up to $300 of applicable vet care for senior owners that qualify.
To receive a voucher, owners must:
Reside in Thurston, Mason, Lewis, or Grays Harbor County and
Be 60 years old or older
Be utilizing one of our veterinary partners
*Income restrictions apply; proof of income may be required.
Covers up to $300 of:
Spay/Neuter costs
Routine wellness
Emergency & non-routine vet visits
Boarding needs for qualifying conditions
Pet quality of life/euthanasia appointments & fees

Senior Pet Owner Grooming Program
CFA understands that seniors face specific hardships when caring for their pets, in particular with pet grooming. That's why, in addition to our other services, qualified senior pet owners can also contact CFA for assistance with grooming needs.
To receive a voucher, owners must call and confirm they qualify. To qualify for a CFA Grooming Voucher, an owner must:
Reside in Thurston, Mason, or Lewis County
Be 60 years old or older
Be referred by Senior Services for South Sound

The Pet Assistance Fund
New in 2021, Senior Services for South Sound has a Pet Assistance Fund that can help seniors in Thurston & Mason county with routine, non-routine, and emergency care for their pets. Learn more about it here or contact Senior Services for South Sound at (360) 586-6181
Delivery with Meals-On-Wheels
For senior pet owners that are struggling to provide for their pets, CFA partners with South Sound Senior Services and Meals-On-Wheels to deliver supplies directly. To get on the Meals-On-Wheels delivery schedule, contact Senior Services for South Sound at (360) 586-6181 and let them know you want to participate in the CFA Pet Food Bank.
